(Baton Rouge, La. ) September 8, 2016 Cancer Services has rescheduled their signature fundraising event, Capital Chefs’ Showcase, for Wednesday, November 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza.

This classic event celebrates its 34th year in 2016 and brings the community together to enjoy delicious food from some of the best chefs, restaurants and caterers as well as music, silent and live auctions and more. Funds raised support Cancer Services’ mission of improving life for those living with cancer and stay in the Greater Baton Rouge community.

Cancer Services postponed Capital Chefs’ Showcase, originally scheduled for Thursday, September 8, at the Baton Rouge River Center, due to the recent historic flooding in our area.

“In the midst of the heartbreaking devastation, we made the difficult decision to postpone Capital Chefs’ Showcase,” said Jill Roshto, Cancer Services CEO. “Our focus these last few weeks has been to stand as one with our community and help with the flood relief efforts.”

Cancer Services has worked closely with those affected by cancer and impacted by the floods by issuing Emergency Grants in addition to the support services continually provided throughout the year.

“We look forward to hosting Capital Chefs’ Showcase later in the fall,” said Roshto. “This event raises critical funds that help us serve our community all year long. Even in difficult times, Cancer Services does not stop and we will continue to be here for those who need us.”
