When Trevor Sims was in our building, everyone knew it! His laughter and energy was contagious and he always made everyone around him smile.
Trevor, a long time client and special friend to Cancer Services, passed away from Rhabdomyosarcoma on October 16, 2013 at age 11. In his short time on earth, he made a big difference in the lives of so many. Trevor had many dreams and one of them was to feed the hungry. Therefore, in September of 2013, he set out on a mission with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank to feed the hungry in our community. With the city of Baton Rouge behind him, Trevor's efforts led to the collection of over 40,000 pounds of food and over $80,000 raised for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. What an incredible effort from an incredible boy.
To help keep Trevor's dream and legacy alive, the Greater Baton Rouge is hosting #TrevorsWish throughout the month of September. They are collecting food to help continue his dream of feeding the hungry in our community. At Cancer Services, we are proud to support the efforts of the Food Bank and proud to help honor the memory of our special friend.
