Cancer Services is proud to host the 19th annual Celebration of Life with partner Mary Bird Perkins-Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Cancer survivors, caregivers, family and friends are joining together on National Cancer Survivors’ Day to remember, honor and celebrate Cajun style. Our Louisiana-style Fais Do-Do party will include Cajun food provided by Drusilla Place Catering and live music from local band Coobie Joe.
National Cancer Survivors’ Day is an annual, treasured event that is held in hundreds of communities nationwide and around the world. It is a celebration for those who have survived, an inspiration for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of support for families, and an outreach to the community. Participants unite in a symbolic event to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be meaningful, productive, and even inspiring. Cancer Services is honored to provide an opportunity for those affected by cancer in our community to join together and celebrate life.
